i want this. it could be a great post banquet project for the craft room or kitchen :)
it is yl banquet week (ahhhhh) and each time i get in the car God has used this song to bring my heart back to the place of remembering why i am so excited to have a banquet and share with the community (which is one of the wealthiest communities in the united states) what yl is and what God is doing and how we would love for people to be a part of it. and who wouldnt want to be a part of what God is doing in the lives of hs and ms kids who dont know Jesus :)

Poverty is so hard to see
When it's only on your tv and twenty miles across town
Where we're all living so good
That we moved out of Jesus' neighborhood
Where he's hungry and not feeling so good
From going through our trash
He says, more than just your cash and coin
I want your time, I want your voice
I want the things you just can't give me

So what must we do
Here in the west we want to follow you
We speak the language and we keep all the rules
Even a few we made up
Come on and follow me
But sell your house, sell your suv
Sell your stocks, sell your security
And give it to the poor
What is this, hey what's the deal
I don't sleep around and i don't steal
I want the things you just can't give me

Because what you do to the least of these
My brother's, you have done it to me
Because I want the things you just can't give me

{boots and mudrooms}

dont these pictures make life with lots of boot wearing people and a dog look picturesque?

dear dallas,
i am tired of your rain. please go away for a long long time. it would be nice though if your friend the sun would come to visit for a while and would bring their friend 65 degrees.

happy friday!

i hope you have 14,000 things to be happy about and if not that many then at least 14 :)

i love all things pumpkin.

and i love fall firewood.

"as we get older we tend to become control freaks. we need to control everybody and everything, moment by moment, to be happy. if the now has never been full or sufficient, we will always be grasping, even addictive or obsessive. if youre pushing yourself and others around, you have not yet found the secret of happiness. its okay as it is. this moment is as perfect as it can be. the saints called it the "sacrament of the present moment".
-richard rohr

this quote sums up my heart in many moments in life. i have a favorite photography BLOG but it makes me think that this moment is not perfect. that what is captured in these photographs is a life that is more perfect than mine right now. it makes me think that if i just had "this" or looked like "that" then things would all fall into place in my heart and life would be completely full of perfect moments and zero less than perfect moments. but, if that were the case then there would be no need for Jesus. i would be ok on my own in life. we would not live in a fallen world, we would live in paradise here on earth. thank you Jesus for making a way for us to live in paradise one day. and, that you give me a light in the dark places of my heart that desire more than this present moment.

i so wish this was real life because they are the cutest.

dear Jesus, please send me a jim halpert.

so i am entering a new decade of age in a mere 1 hour and 25 minutes. am i excited about this monumental change? not so much. but someone this weekend thought i was turning the very young age of 22 this weekend and that made me feel better about what will inevitably occur on october 7th.

here are a few of the interesting events that happened in the wonderful year of my birth (1979) you can calculate from that how old i am turning.
The annual Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans, Louisiana is canceled due to a strike called by the New Orleans Police Department.
Mr. Ed, the 'talking horse' featured in the television show of the same name, dies.
Philips demonstrates Compact Disc publicly for the first time.
The Nickelodeon Television Channel, a children's cartoon channel, launches as The Pinwheel Network.
Schoolchildren in the Central African Republic are arrested (and around 100 killed) for protesting against compulsory school uniforms.
The first British nudist beach is established in Brighton.
Two families flee from East Germany by balloon.
McDonald's introduces the Happy Meal.

So here is to 1979 and entering a new decade of age!
